Simon Rodway

I qualified as a Blue Badge Guide in 2002 and have been entertaining and informing since that date. I live in West London with a wife born in Essex - who uncannily resembles Camilla Parker-Bowles - and a daughter who uncannily resembles the actress Helena Bonham-Carter in the movie Room With A View.

The Blue Badge Difference

To earn the Blue Badge you must pass a series of rigorous exams set by The Institute of Tourist Guiding.  The knowledge gained is easily the same as a university degree but candidates are also trained in working with groups of people. I, Simon Rodway, qual-
ified in 2002 and I reckon my Silver Cane London walks easily
fulfill all the criteria set by the Institute - to involve gentle exercise, correct information, great views and be an enjoyable social experi-ence for all (i.e. ’a good laugh’).

Save Twford Abbey

Simon recently spoke with Time Out to try and raise awareness of one of London's best kept secrets - Twford Abbey. Badly in need of restoration, Twford Abbey has been kept in limbo, trapped between developers and the local council. Will the deadlock be broken before it's too late? Read Article.
