The son of a second son of a Duke, Churchill had to live on his wits.
He was an aristocratic adventurer with a gift for the gab. He made his name with his pen and then was the right man at the right
moment in March 1940 when he kissed the King's hand, taking over as Prime Minister from the discredited Chamberlain. Churchill was
a giant and even today we still live in his shadow. He was the last aristocrat to rule over us, really rule over us.
