Serene St Pauls

This is The People's Church. Consecrated ('given to God') in 1710, it's the masterpiece of the great Baroque architect Sir Christopher Wren. So faultless are Wren's acoustics that the composer Haydn described St Paul's as the best place for music he had ever visited. Highlights include the coffin hole, Nelson's tomb and the American Chapel with its Book of Remembrance donated by Ike, where every day a Cathedral priest turns the page
